How far must you travel to hear your own voice anew?
Project Polaris is the 13.000km journey cellist-composer Maya Fridman and producer-photographer Brendon Heinst are undertaking from Utrecht, The Netherlands, to Nordkapp, Norway and back. Together with nothing but a motorcycle and a notepad and following Polaris — leiðarstjarna in Old Norse — rediscovering ourselves, we’re letting the hush of boreal forests and fjords inspire us to write music for a new album. And we’re inviting you to come along for the ride — the journey itself being the prelude, the record its resonance.
Through this website, and the “Shop & Support” page, we’re inviting you to become part of our journey. With any purchase or donation on this site, you’ll receive an access code to be able to see photographs and vlogs from our adventure, listen to sketches of the music as they’re being composed by Maya, and you’ll be among the first to be able to listen to and pre-order the album resulting from this journey.
